Quiet but happy weekend so far

Adam and I have spend Friday and Saturday around the house. It is cool inside and I have been patching up the bathroom wall.... Anyway, Adam, with his newly organized room, has been going down memory lane by pulling out Video Cassette tapes of shows he loved years ago. The Power Rangers ruled the morning, and Pokemon was the choice this afternoon. He even got out the old Game boy Pokemon thingy.
He also he went through 5 or 6 pars of shorts today.... you see, he re-discovered the hose. With the Nozzle I found yesterday, he has been watering everything.... Especially the street.... I wonder how many cars actually got a wash on the way by.... (actually he was good about not squirting the cars)
Dinner was at Grandma's. (We also took a shower there also. Bathroom walls have to cure for 24 hours.....ahhhhhh) Poor Adam was not thrilled with the veggies mixed in with the meat. A few "discussing!" comments were hushed and he sat at his seat till everything was consumed ("I don't feel so good" and "All done" after every bite didn't work - He ate it all - It was delicious - it wasn't torcher;)
See, Adam would eat barbeque-sauce sandwiches all day if we let him (Friday morning he got through half the loaf before I realized what was happening). If he never eats it, He will never learn to like it.
That reminds me of One of the cutest moments of the weekend. Friday morning Adam rushed in saying, "stupid brain! Stupid brain! It's Broken!" while patting his head. I rushed to him in a panic thinking he had hurt himself. But he was un-hurt - he was just upset with himself for dumping bbq sauce all over the front-door table. It wasn't his fault - it was his stupid brain - lol. I hugged him and thanked him for telling me. Then we brought the table over to the sink to wash it off..... yes, there was that much sauce... I think it is great that he no longer hides when he makes a mess. I have worked hard to encourage him to let me know right away. A lot of Oh-No's and Silly Adam's, along with, "come on and help me clean it up." Followed by, "all better." I don't think it is fair to crush a child's spirit just because they were like a kid and made a mess.
Tonight closed with us and a Power Ranger's comic book. I like the comic books because I can get Adam to read a ton of it. And I can really get him to animate it! It makes reading fun and teaches him how to inflect the sentences. We get soooooo silly.

When I read the excerpt of Adam eating "vegetables in the meat" at grandma's, it reminded me of him buying his school lunch. He goes through the lunch line choosing the tray that has no veggies on it. The lunch ladies always ask him if he would like veggies and they always got a firm "no". They would get a chuckle when they asked again "try some" and Adam would reply "no" again. Even with a promise of putting ketchup on it, the answer was still no. So I'm glad to see he's eating veggies at home. We can work on this.
